History: Maastricht Scharnerweg
This project involves the construction of a tunnel straight through Maastricht. To ensure that crossing and local traffic in Maastricht could continue to use their routes, we installed a bridge 34.5 m long and 17.5 m wide in 2012 to maintain the Scharnerweg during the construction of the tunnel. The bridge consists of seven adjacent elements, each 34.5 meters long. The bridges were lifted into place from the sand bed from which the tunnel was later excavated. During the dismantling in 2014, the elements were lifted out from the bridge's end using a crane.
